Product Description
Overview

Steel frame formwork is a modular panel system built from 100 mm hollow steel profiles fitted with 15 mm film faced plywood sheets. The panels connect with alignment couplers and wedge clamps to form rigid wall, column and foundation shutters rated for lateral concrete pressures up to 60 kN per square metre. Designed for both hand-set operations and crane-lifted gang forms, the equipment serves ground beams, retaining structures and multi-storey shear walls.

Key Features
  • Rigid 100 mm steel profile with 15 mm plywood face. Perimeter frames are fabricated from 100 mm steel sections that resist deflection under wet concrete, while inset 15 mm film faced plywood gives a clean fair-faced finish without secondary plastering. Standard panel units range from 18.90 kg for a 600 x 450 mm infill piece to 109.41 kg for a 3000 x 900 mm gang panel, allowing small units to be set by hand and large units to be joined on the ground and picked by crane.
  • Fast panel connection with alignment couplers and wedge clamps. Individual panels lock together through precision edge profiles using DRS 288 mm alignment couplers at 3.86 kg and wedge clamps at 2.16 kg. The coupler pulls adjacent panels into alignment and seals the joint in a single hammer blow, preventing grout loss, eliminating surface steps, and reducing gang assembly time compared with loose timber framing.
  • Multipurpose panels with 50 mm column increments. The universal panel range features anchor holes spaced every 50 mm across the face, allowing contractors to shutter square and rectangular columns from 200 x 200 mm to 800 x 800 mm without dedicated column boxes. Internal 90-degree corners, outside corners and articulated hinged corners from 70 to 180 degrees allow shafts, core walls, and non-rectangular basements to be formed with standard catalogue components.

Handling and Construction Method

Panels arrive in transport pallets that save yard space and protect plywood during shipping. On site, units erect individually or assemble into gang forms up to 30 square metres. Push-pull props clamp to ribs and anchor to the slab to resist wind before crane release. Tie rods pass through frame sleeves, combi-plates tighten, and concrete is placed within the 60 kN per square metre limit. After curing, clamps and ties release, panels strip smoothly, and plywood is oiled for the next pour.

Application

Steel frame formwork serves heavy civil and commercial building contracts. Key structural applications include shear walls, elevator cores, bridge piers, retention basements, utility culverts, water treatment tanks, and foundation stem walls. When equipped with cantilever console brackets, the shuttering also forms a certified perimeter working scaffold for upper storeys.
